Custom Questions

There may well be a few other candidate testing facilities on the market, however we've not found one yet that allows you, the business, to create your own, bespoke questions, tailored to your specific requirements as part of the standard package, and without tieing you into a costly license agreement.

This is exactly where Nuts and Bolts It are different, we not only have the ability to select pre-made questions from our ever-growing library, but if you want, you can create your own questions, tailoring the test to your exact requirements.

Types of question

We want the testing facility that you use to be both flexible and powerful, so we've enabled a number of different types of question to be used, ensuring you can get the best possible answers from your candidates to help in the decision making process of which one(s) to select.

Multiple-choice

The type of question that most people are familiar with; ask a question and provide a number of answers to select from, with only one or two correct ones. A quick and easy way of getting an idea of whether a candidate knows their subject.

Input Analysis

This type of question takes an input from the candidate and analyses it against a set of pre-determined keyword criteria, meaning you can ask and look for very specific knowledge from your candidates.

Open Response

This is ideal when asking for more information from your candidate, whether as a way of getting to know them a little by asking open-questions where they can describe themselves, or for asking essay-type questions where you are looking for a more in-depth answer to check if the candidate really knows their subject matter.

Again, with the open response question type, you can scan and check for certain keyword criteria to help identify the candidate(s) that are in-line with the sort of responses you are after.

Image-based questions

If this level of test is selected (see our flexible pricing page for more details), an image can be uploaded to accompany any of the question types above.

This incredibly powerful feature of Nuts and Bolts It allows in-depth, visual questions to be asked, such as scenario-based questions, ones based on schematic or electrical drawings, whether the candidate knows what certain signs or logos mean ... the list continues.

We believe that this flexibility is unique to Nuts and Bolts It and will help you to produce tests that are tailored perfectly to your needs, all at a great price and using our easy-to-use system.
